Notre ami Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh a ete enleve depuis plus d’un an et demi. Il y a un an, la
commission d’enquete tchadienne concluait a\u00a0 son deces, peu de temps apres son enlevement probable
par les forces armees tchadiennes. Aujourd’hui, la verite que nous exigeons collectivement n’est
toujours par connue.
1) Le depute Gaetan Gorse et le senateur Jean-Pierre Sueur continuent\u00a0 a agir aupres des autorites
francaises pour exiger la verite.\u00a0 Ils ont recu recemment une lettre du President de la Republique
Francaise qui n’apporte aucun element d’information decisif.\u00a0 Voir

2) Comme nous vous l’annoncions le 3 f\u00e9vrier, un prix Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh sera cree pour quela
m\u00e9moire de notre coll\u00e8gue reste vivante et pour poursuivre son engagement en faveur des
mathematiques en Afrique.\u00a0 Cette action a ete approuvee par les trois societes, SFdS, SMAI et SMF.
Le prix sera attribue tous les ans a un jeune mathematicien africain par un comite scientifique mis
en place par le CIMPA. Il financera un sejour scientifique. Une souscription internationale, a
laquelle les signataires de la petition seront appeles a contribuer, sera mise en place. Le
calendrier est le suivant: -lancement de la souscription le 1er octobre -lancement du premier appel
a candidatures le 1er octobre, avec une date limite de candidature au 15 novembre, -choix du premier
beneficiaire avant le 31 d\u00e9cembre 2009.

Journal of Mathematics \u00bb\u00a0 (http:\/\/commun-math-anal.org\/adjm81.htm<\/a>) consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire de notre
coll\u00e8gue tchadien, Pr Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh progresse. La date limite pour les contributions a
\u00e9t\u00e9 report\u00e9e jusqu’au 30 septembre 2009. Ainsi tous celles et ceux qui souhaitent encore contribuer

Saleh was kidnapped for over a year and a half. One year ago, the Chadian commission of inquiry has
concluded that he was dead. His death has probably occured very rapidly after his removal by the
Chadian armed forces. The complete truth, that we\u00a0 collectively demand, is still not known.
\u00a01) The French deputy Gaetan Gorse and Senator Jean-Pierre Sueur\u00a0 continue to make pressure on
French authorities to demand the truth.\u00a0 They recently received a letter from the President of the
French\u00a0 Republic, which offers no decisive\u00a0 information.\u00a0 See

\u00a02) As we announced on 3 February, a prize Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh\u00a0 will be created in memory of
our colleague and to continue its\u00a0 commitment to Mathematics in Africa. This action was approved by
the\u00a0 three French mathematical societies, SFdS, SMAI and SMF. The prize\u00a0 will be awarded annually to
a young mathematician from Africa by a\u00a0 scientific committee set up by CIMPA. It will fund a
scientific visit.\u00a0 An international subscription, to which the signatories of the\u00a0 petition will be
asked to contribute, will be established.\u00a0 The schedule for the prize is as follows:\u00a0 -Launch of the
subscription on October 1\u00a0 -Launch of first call for applications on October 1, with an\u00a0 application
deadline to November 15,\u00a0 -choice of the first recipient before 31 December 2009.<\/p>\n
Mathematics\u00a0 (http:\/\/commun-math-anal.org\/adjm81.htm<\/a>) in memory of Prof. Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh
progresses. The deadline for contributions\u00a0 has been extended to September 30, 2009. So if you still
