1) Voici les nouvelles que nous recevions hier du Tchad. “Nous avons tente de commemorer cette
journee anniversaire de la disparition d’Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh de plusieurs manieres mais le
pouvoir ete plus fort que nous. Notre marche – meeting a ete interdite.\u00a0 Nous avons ensuite voulu
organiser une journee du souvenir dans un hotel de la place, mais le proprietaire, menace par la
police semble-t-il, nous a rendu l’argent de la reservation. Nous continuons la lutte.”
2) Suivant un message de Toka Diagana, le projet d’un volume special de l’African Diaspora J. Math.
(www.african-j-math.org)\u00a0 dedie a Ibni se met en place, et plusieurs editeurs invites ont deja
accepte, dont notamment Pr Augustin Banyaga, Pr Hamet Seydi, et Pr Abdul-Aziz Yakubu. “Le seul
objectif de ce volume special consistera a garder vivants la memoire du Prof. Ibni Oumar Mahamat
Saleh et ses contributions pour developper les mathematique en Afrique. Le volume special sera
ouvert a tous les domaines\u00a0 des mathematiques et de leurs applications. “
3) Le message que nous vous avons adresse hier a ete traduit en espagnol et poste sur le web, voir
http:\/\/www.matematicalia.net\/<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Merci a Marta Macho Stadler !
4) Les trois presidents des societes savantes SFdS, SMAI et SMF vont adresser une lettre aux
presidents de la republique tchadien et francais pour demander a nouveau\u00a0 ” que lumi\u00e8re soit faite
et justice soit rendue”.
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Que ceux qui vivent en democratie apprecient la chance qui est la leur et t\u00e9moignent pour les
autres. Que ceux qui n’ont pas droit de s’exprimer librement soient assures de notre solidarite.

from Chad yesterday. “Our attempts to commemorate this anniversary day of the disappearance of Ibni
Oumar Mahamat Saleh were unsuccessful, the power was stronger than us. Our march – meeting was
prohibited. We then wanted to organize a day of remembrance in a hotel, but the owner, probably

2) According to a message from Toka Diagana, there are plans for dedicating a special volume of the
African Diaspora J. Math.\u00a0 (www.african-j-math.org)\u00a0 to Ibni , and several guest editors already
accepted, among them Pr Augustin Banyaga, Pr Hamet Seydi, et Pr Abdul-Aziz Yakubu.\u00a0 “The sole
objective of that special volume will consist of keeping Prof. Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh memory as
well as his contributions to developing mathematics in Africa alive. The scope of the special issue
will encompasse all areas of mathematics and their applications. “
3) The message that we sent yesterday was translated into Spanish and posted on the Web, see

4) The three presidents of the French societies SFdS, SMAI and SMF will send a letter to the
Presidents of the Republic of Chad and France to ask for truth and justice.
