Il y a un an disparaissait Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh, enleve a son domicile par des forces armees.
Selon le rapport de la commission d’enquete rendu public en septembre dernier, cet enlevement etait
le fait de l’armee tchadienne, et il est quasi certain que Ibni est mort incarcere dans les jours
suivants, dans des circonstances non elucidees.
Plus que jamais nous voulons que lumi\u00e8re soit faite et justice rendue.

4. Un prix Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh est en train d’etre cree pour que sa memoire reste vivante et
pour poursuivre son engagement en faveur des mathematiques en Afrique.\u00a0 Cette action est lancee en
commun par les trois societes,\u00a0 SMF, SMAI et SFdS. Le prix sera attribue tous les ans a un jeune
mathematicien africain par un comite scientifique mis en place par le CIMPA. Il financera un sejour
scientifique. Une souscription internationale, a laquelle les signataires de la petition seront
appeles a contribuer, sera mise en place. L’op\u00e9ration de lancement est en cours, avec le calendrier

One year ago\u00a0 Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh has disappeared from his home, abducted\u00a0 by armed forces.
According to the report of the Investigation Committee, whose conclusions have been made public last

4. A prize Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh is being created, to keep his memory alive and to continue his
commitment to mathematics in Africa. This action is being launched jointly by the three societies,
SMF,\u00a0 SFdS and SMAI. The prize will be awarded annually to a young African mathematician by a
scientific committee set up by CIMPA\/ ICPAM (International Center for Pure and Applied Mathematics,
http:\/\/www.cimpa-icpam.org\/index.php). The award will fund a scientific project. An international
subscription, to which the signatories of the petition will be invited to contribute, will be
established. The operation is now being launched, with the following schedule:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 – Agreement of
the boards of the three societies on the definition of the prize before April 30.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 – Agreement
