1) Notre petition avait recueilli ce matin 1772 signatures. Pour les nouveaux signataires: un resume
des actions et reactions precedentes peut etre consulte sur

2) Nous n’avons eu aucune reaction et encore moins de reponse venues des autorites francaises ou
tchadiennes auxquelles nous avons remis la petition\u00a0 le 14 mars et que nous avons recontactees par
courriel le 21 mars.
3) La communaute mathematique internationale se mobilise. En France, la SFdS (Societe francaise de
Statistique) a joint ses efforts a ceux de\u00a0 la SMF\u00a0 et de la SMAI pour demander la verite sur le
sort d’Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh.\u00a0 Au Canada, l’ensemble des adherents de la CMS ont ete informes et
invit\u00e9s \u00e0 signer,\u00a0 http:\/\/www.smc.math.ca\/bulletins\/2008\/appeal.html.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 En Inde, la Ramanujan
Mathematical Society a egalement informe ses membres de la petition. L’EMS a prevu d’envoyer un
courriel a toutes les societes savantes europeennes adherentes. Le prochain bulletin de l’IMU
diffusera l’information.

2) No reaction and no answer from the French or Chadian authorities so far, even after the mail of
March 21.
3) The international mathematical community is mobilized.\u00a0 In France, SFdS (Societe francaise de
Statistique) joined its efforts with SMF\u00a0 and SMAI to know the truth about the fate of Ibni Oumar
Mahamet Saleh.\u00a0 In Canada, all CMS members are informed of the situation and asked to sign the
petition,\u00a0 http:\/\/www.smc.math.ca\/bulletins\/2008\/appeal.html In India, the Ramanujan Mathematical
Society has also informed its members. The EMS (European Mathematical Society) intends to send a
message to all the\u00a0 European mathematical societies that are its members.\u00a0 The IMU will give
