1) Petition: Vous faites partie des 3525 signataires de la petition sur « Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh »
(http://smf.emath.fr/PetitionSaleh/)  Il y a 8 ans, le 3 fevrier, Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh a ete
enleve a son domicile a N’Djamena par des forces armees. Il est presque certainement mort dans les
jours suivants. Nous ne pouvons oublier, nous voulons connaitre les circonstances de sa mort, et que
justice soit faite.


2) Prix Ibni: Les trois societes de mathematiques francaises, SFdS, SMAI et SMF  ont cree en 2009 un
prix Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh, a sa memoire. Il est attribue tous les ans a un jeune mathematicien
ou une jeune mathematicienne d’Afrique Centrale ou d’Afrique de l’Ouest et finance un sejour
scientifique de quelques mois.  Les laureats 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 et 2014 etaient Oumarou
Abdou Arbi, nigerien, Amadou Tall, senegalais, Solym Mawaki Sanou Abi, togolais, El Hadji Deme,
senegalais, Koffi Wilfrid Houedanou, togolais et David Jaures Fotsa Mbogne, camerounais.

Le laureat 2015 a ete proclame aujourd’hui  http://www.univ-orleans.fr/prixIbni/resultats .   Le
nombre de candidatures soumises a été de 12. Après évaluation des dossiers, le Comité du Prix Ibni a
décidé à la majorité  de proposer que le Prix soit attribué a Monsieur Valaire Yatat Djeumen.
Valaire Yatat Djeumen est un doctorant camerounais, dont la thèse porte sur la modélisation de
systèmes écologiques. Ses travaux de recherche sont menés sous l’encadrement conjoint de Jean Jules
Tewa, Professeur  à l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Yaoundé et d’ Yves Dumont,
Directeur de Recherche dans l’UMR AMAP (Botanique et modélisation de l’architecture des plantes et
des végétations) à Montpellier. Il effectuera grâce au Prix Ibni un séjour de recherche de trois
mois en 2016 qui lui permettra de terminer la redaction de sa these.

tres precieuse. Le  Prix Ibni est egalement soutenu par le CIMPA (Centre International de
Mathematiques Pures et Appliquees) et l’IMU CDC (Comite pour les pays en developpement de l’Union
Mathematique  Internationale)

1) Petition:  You are one of the 3525 signatories of the petition for « Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh « 
(http://smf.emath.fr/PetitionSaleh/)  Eight years ago, on February 3, Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh was
abducted from his home in N’Djamena by armed forces. He died almost certainly soon after. We cannot
forget this, we want to know the circumstances of his death, we want justice to be done.

2) Ibni Prize: The three French Mathematical Societies, SFdS, SMAI and SMF have created in 2009 the
Prize Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh in his memory. It is awarded annually to a young mathematician of
Central or West Africa. It funds a scientific visit.  The recipients in 2009, 2010,  2011, 2012,
2013 and 2014  were respectively Oumarou Abdou Arbi, from Niger, Amadou Tall, from Senegal, Solyme
Abi Mawaki Sanou, from Togo, El Hadji Deme, from Senegal, Khoffi Wilfrid Houedanou, from Togo and
David Jaures Fotsa Mbogne from Cameroon.

The recipient of the 2015 Prize is announced today  http://www.univ-orleans.fr/en/prixibni/results .
There were twelve candidates. After evaluation of their applications, the Ibni Prize Committee
decided unanimously to propose to give the Prize to Valaire Yatat Djeumen. Valaire Yatat Djeumen, a
native from Cameroon, is a PhD student at the University of Yaounde 1. His thesis, which develops
mathematical models of ecosystems, is jointly directed by Jean Jules Tewa, of  Ecole Nationale
Supérieure Polytechnique of Yaoundé and by Yves Dumont, of CIRAD  in Montpellier, France. It will
enable him to make a three-months visit to the research institute CIRAD in Montpellier, in the
framework of his PhD.
