1) Petition: Vous faites partie des 3527 signataires de la petition sur « Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh »
(http://smf.emath.fr/PetitionSaleh/) Il y a 9 ans, le 3 fevrier, Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh a ete
enleve a son domicile a N’Djamena par des forces armees. Il est presque certainement mort dans les
jours suivants. Nous ne pouvons oublier, nous voulons connaitre les circonstances de sa mort, et que
justice soit faite.
2) Prix Ibni: Les trois societes de mathematiques francaises, SFdS, SMAI et SMF ont cree en 2009 un
prix Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh, a sa memoire. Il a ete attribue tous les ans a un jeune mathematicien
ou une jeune mathematicienne d’Afrique Centrale ou d’Afrique de l’Ouest et finance un sejour
scientifique de quelques mois depuis 2009 . Le prix Ibni est en train d’etre redefini. Il est
envisage qu’il ddevienne un prix de these et soit desormais attribue a deux personnes tous les deux
ans, a partir de 2018. Nous vous informerons des que le format du nouveau prix sera connu
precisement. La souscription pour le financement du Prix Ibni est actuellement suspendue.
3) Une conference-debat « Tchad: qu’est devenu Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh » aura lieu le samedi 4
fevrier 2017 de 14H a 17H a la Fondation Gabriel Peru, 14 rue Scandicci, 93500 Pantin (Metro ligne

4) Le souvenir d’Ibni est aussi maintenu grace aux billets postes sur internet. Vous pouvez

1) Petition. You are one of the 3527 signatories of the petition for « Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh «
http://smf.emath.fr/PetitionSaleh/ There will be nine years on February 3 since Ibni Oumar Mahamat
Saleh was abducted from his home in N’Djamena by armed forces. He died almost certainly soon after.
We cannot forget this, we want to know the circumstances of his death, we want justice to be done.
2) Ibni Prize. The three French Mathematical Societies, SFdS, SMAI and SMF have created in 2009 the
prize Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh in his memory. It has been awarded annually to a young mathematician
of Central or West Africa and has been funding a scientific visit of a few months every year since
2009. The prize is in the process of being redefined. It would become a thesis’ prize and would be
awarded to two persons every two years, starting from 2018. We shall inform you of its new format as
soon as it is established. The subscription for the prize is presently suspended.
3) A panel discussion: “Chad: what happened to Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh » will take place on
Saturday, February 4th, 2017, from 14H to 17H at the Foundation Gabriel Peru, 14 rue Scandicci,
93500 Pantin (Metro line 5 : Hoche). See

We do not forget Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh and we keep asking the truth about what happened to him to
