Tuesday 24 March 2015 14:00 - Orléans - Salle de Séminaire
Résumé :
Kari Astala will speak about Christopher Bishop's paper : "True Trees are Dense" Invent math (2014) 197:433–452 Abstract of the paper: We show that any compact, connected set K in the plane can be approximated by the critical points of a polynomial with two critical values. Equivalently,K can be approximated in the Hausdorff metric by a true tree in the sense of Grothendieck’s dessins d’enfants.
