We exhibit the equivalence between the renormalized volume of AAdS Einstein manifolds and the renormalized Einstein-AdS gravity action. For even-dimensional bulk manifolds, the topological renormalization is achieved through the addition of the boundary Chern form. We also show that the renormalized area of the minimal surface considered in the Ryu-Takayanagi construction gives the renormalized Entanglement Entropy in the dual CFT. Analogously, renormalized Entanglement Renyi Entropies can be obtained from the renormalized areas of codimension-2 branes with tension. The renormalized Entanglement Entropy thus computed corresponds to the universal part and it is reinterpreted in terms of both topological and geometric components.
