Résumé :
Black hole spacetimes that are asymptotically quiescent have some analyticity properties that can be exploited for numerical calculations. By making a step into the complex plane using spherical coordinates with complexified radius, black hole spacetimes are efficiently represented by 3D spectral methods, following compactification by a M\"obius transformation. We illustrate this approach for conformally flat initial data and the linear wave equation. We discuss some of the issues in extending it to the problem of hyperbolic evolution in the 3+1 Hamiltonian approach, where Newton's law governs the leading order l=2 evolution of poloidal surface elements (van Putten, MHPM, PNAS, 2006, 103, 519).
