Abstract: This talk is about recent joint papers with G. Garrig'os and with Y. Heo and F. Nazarov. The goal is to characterize, for suitable $p$, the $L^p$ boundedness of convolution operators with radial kernels. There are connections with the so-called local smoothing problem for the wave equation.
