Résumé :

We discuss the existence of BV solutions to the Euler-Poisson system with power-law pressure in one space dimension. For a fixed time T and BV initial data (which can be large), we construct a BV entropy solution provided that the exponent of the power-law pressure is close to 1. We use the Glimm scheme combined with a splitting method. We will focus on the difficulties that arise in controlling the Glimm functional for the Euler- Poisson system due to the presence of the electric field. If time permits, we will briefly discuss the analogous result for the initial boundary value problem for the Euler-Poisson system. This talk is based on a joint work with Shyam Sundar Ghoshal and Boris Haspot.
