Transient random walks on the space of lattices

Résumé :

This will be an introductory talk on random walks on the spaces of lattices. I will discuss motivations for studying random walks on homogeneous spaces, illustrate some specific applications, and mention previous results that led to our work. I will finish by describing one of our simple constructions of transient random walks. No previous knowledge of homogeneous spaces will be assumed. Joint work with Axel Péneau.
