Topological Solitons in GravityPierre Heidmann (Ohio State University, USA)
Thursday 12 November 2026 14:00 - Salle des séminaires - Salle 1180, bâtiment E2
Résumé :
Black holes are among the most fascinating objects in our universe, yet their fundamental nature remains mysterious. In this talk, I will discuss topological solitons: smooth, ultra-compact gravitational objects supported by non-trivial spacetime topology and extra dimensions. I will explain how they may provide new insights into the microscopic structure of black holes and quantum gravity, and how their distinctive signatures could potentially be probed through black-hole imaging and gravitational-wave observations.
