Thursday 03 March 2011 14:00 -  Tours -  Salle 1180 (Bât E2)

Résumé :
Effective Field Theory is a technique for calculating using the low energy limit of a theory, even if the complete theory is not known. General Relativity fits very well in this framework and there are reliable quantum predictions which result. I will discuss the general framework and give as an example the leading quantum correction to the Newtonian gravitational potential.
