Nonequilibrium quantum field theory for cosmology
Julien Serreau (Orsay)
Tuesday 14 June 2011 14:00 -  Tours -  Salle 1180 (Bât E2)

Résumé :
I present a brief review on nonequilibrium QFT and its recent development based, in particular, on the use of two-particle-irreducible (2PI) functional techniques. These have opened the way to many applications from high energy physics to cosmology to condensed matter physics. Cosmology applications concern, in particular, the issue of reheating after inflation, baryogenesis and, more recently, the question of decoherence in QFT. In the second part of the talk, I present in more detail a very recent application to the study of quantum field theory on de Sitter space-time and in particular the issues of dynamical mass generation and spontaneous symmetry breaking in de Sitter.
