Statistical Mechanics and Large Deviations for the Magnetization in the random field Curie-Weiss model

Friday 20 April 2012 11:00 -  Tours -  Salle 2290 (Bât E2)

Résumé :
The Curie-Weiss model is probably the simplest model of a ferromagnet and its phase transition, when varying its temperature. The random field Curie-Weiss model is derived from the Curie-Weiss model by replacing the constant and deterministic external magnetic field by a local random external field which interacts with each spin of the system. In this talk, the statistical mechanics of this model will be presented and the new large deviations principle for the magnetization per spin $S_n/n$ with respect to the associated Gibbs measure will be established. If time allows, the results will be applied and disscused in the example of a dichotomous external field.
