Séminaire d'Analyse

When Operations Research meets Mathematics.
Vincent T'kindt
Thursday 21 March 2019 10:45 -  Tours -  Salle 1180 (Bât E2)

Résumé :
Operations Research (OR), sometimes called combinatorial optimization, is a discipline of Computer Science dealing with the solution of decision or optimization problems. Exploiting the framework offered by Complexity Theory, it is assumed that some of these problems are easy to solve for a computer while the others are intractable. This has a strong influence on OR, leading researchers to take care of the temporal dimension when solving decision/optimization problems. This seminar will present some research works which highlight that OR researchers are doing mathematics where time matters.
