Résumé :
Discrete circles not only play an important role in various applied mathematical settings, but also provide a lively playground for more fundamental number-theoretical and philosophical questions. In this talk, I will present a new algorithm for the construction of complete circular paths on the integer lattice $\mathbb{Z}^2$. This algorithm recovers the defining constant $\pi$ of a circle in $\mathbb{R}^2$, thus provides a new home to $\pi$ in a discrete metric space endowed with $\ell^1$-norm. Joining $\pi$ in this search for a new home, the talk will be complemented by a brief presentation of my past work in theoretical physics, graph and number theory, as well as outline some future plans.
