Triste anniversaire, Campagne 2018 pour le Prix Ibni/Sad anniversairy, 2018 Campaingn for Ibni Prize

1) Petition: Vous faites partie des 3532 signataires de la petition sur « Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh »
(https://www.univ-orleans.fr/prixibni)  Il y a 10 ans, le 3 fevrier, Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh a ete
enleve a son domicile a N’Djamena par des forces armees. Il est presque certainement mort dans les
jours suivants. Nous ne pouvons oublier, nous voulons connaitre les circonstances de sa mort, et que
justice soit faite.


2) Prix Ibni: Les trois societes de mathematiques francaises, SFdS, SMAI et SMF  ont cree en 2009 un
prix Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh, a sa memoire. Il a ete attribue tous les ans a un jeune mathematicien
ou une jeune mathematicienne d’’Afrique Centrale ou d’’Afrique de l’Ouest et finance
un sejour scientifique de quelques mois.  Les laureats 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 et 2015
etaient Oumarou Abdou Arbi, nigerien, Amadou Tall, senegalais, Solym Mawaki Sanou Abi, togolais, El
Hadji Deme, senegalais, Koffi Wilfrid Houedanou, togolais, David Jaures Fotsa Mbogne, camerounais et
Valaire Yatat Djeumen, camerounais. Le Prix Ibni a ete redefini et devient un prix de these. Il sera
decerne a deux laureats tous les deux ans.  La campagne du Prix Ibni 2018 est maintenant ouverte.

La date-limite de depot des candidatures est le 31 mars 2018. Nous vous prions de bien vouloir

3) Une conference-debat « 10 ans sans Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh’’ aura lieu le samedi 3 février 2018
de 10h a 15h  a la Fondation Jean-Jaures, 12 cite Malesherbes, 75009 Paris (ligne de metro 2 :

Nous n’’oublions pas Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh et nous continuons a demander la verite a son
sujet au president tchadien Idriss Deby et au  president francais Emmanuel Macron.  Nous partagerons
en cet anniversaire la douleur de la famille d’Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh et leur exigence de verite.

Dear friends,

1) Petition. You are one of the 3532 signatories of the  petition for « Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh « 
(https://www.univ-orleans.fr/en/prixibni)  There will be ten years on February 3 since Ibni Oumar
Mahamat Saleh was abducted from his home in N’Djamena by armed forces. He died almost certainly soon
after. We cannot forget this, we want to know the circumstances of his death, we want justice to be
done.

2) Ibni Prize. The three French Mathematical Societies, SFdS, SMAI and SMF have created in 2009 the
prize Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh in his memory. It has been awarded annually to a young mathematician
of Central or West Africa and has been funding a scientific visit of  a few months every year since
2009 until 2015. The awardees  of the 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 et 2015 Ibni Prizes were
respectively Oumarou Abdou Arbi from Niger, Amadou Tall from Senegal, Solym Mawaki Sanou Abi from
Tog, El Hadji Deme from Senegal, Koffi Wilfrid Houedanou from Togo, David Jaures Fotsa Mbogne, from
Cameroon and Valaire Yatat Djeumen from Cameroon.  The prize has been redefined. It becomes a
thesis’ prize and will be awarded to two persons every two years. The campaign for the 2018 Ibni
Prize is now open. Instructions to candidates are available on

you to forward this information to potential candidates. Applications from women are particularly
welcome.

3) A panel discussion commemorating the 10th anniversary of the abduction of  Ibni Oumar Mahamat
Saleh will take place on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018, from 10H to 15H at the Foundation
Jean-Jaures, 12 cite Malesherbes, 75009 Paris (Metro line 2 : Pigalle)  (for more information

We do not forget Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh and we keep asking the truth about what happened to him to
Chadian President Idriss Deby and French President Emmanuel Macron. On this anniversary, we share
the grief of Ibni’s family and ask for justice.
