Prix Ibni

Ibni Prize

The « Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh » Award was established in the memory of our colleague died in 2008 and seeks to continue his commitment for mathematics in Africa. Since 2017, the prize is awarded biennially and aims at honoring young mathematicians from Central end West Africa; the winner is offered a scientific visit of a few months in a french laboratory.

The Ibni Prize is funded through a subscription, managed by the « Association pour la Promotion de la Science en Afrique » (do not forget to mention « Prix Ibni » if you make a donation for the prize).

The Ibni Prize is supported by the IMU (International Mathematical Union), the UMA (Union Mathématique Africaine), the CIMPA (Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées) and several learning societies :

  • LMS (London Mathematical Society),
  • SFdS (Société Française de Statistique),
  • SMAI (Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles),
  • SMF (Société Mathématique de France)
